My most current recording occurred this past January 9-13-17 at Audio Recording in Bentleyville, OH. It is called “The Many and The Few”. It is composed of an original 4 song suite in tribute to John Coltrane’s “Love Supreme”. The artists that performed on the recording are bassist Juini Booth, pianist Benito Gonzalez, and drummer Mark Lomax II, along with myself playing tenor and soprano saxophone.
A previously released recording from 2015 called “NEBULOSITY” in tribute to Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, and Charles Mingus is readily available for sale! It features the tenor saxophone work of Edwin Bayard, tenor/soprano saxophone of Jack Novotny, bassist Dean Hullet, and drummer Dr. Mark Lomax II. All six songs were composed by Jack Novotny.
My new CD called “NEBULOSITY” has been mixed/mastered and under production.
Engineered by Tom Baker and recorded with Mark Lomax II -drums, Eddie Bayard – Tenor Saxophone and Dean Hulett-Acoustic Bass
Kind of reminds me of the 1972 “Live At The Lighthouse” recording with Elvin Jones, Dave Liebman, Steve Grossman, & Gene Perla.
New recording project in the works performing with the scintillating Mark Lomax Trio!!! The group consists of Eddie Bayard on saxophone, Dean Hullet on acoustic bass and Mark on drum kit. I composed six (6) tunes specifically for the Trio and my horn. Inspired by the 1972 “Live at The Lighthouse” recording of Elvin Jones, Dave Liebman, Steve Grossman, & Gene Perla.
