On Thursday, December 14, 2017 “The Jack Novotny Trio” recorded 8 original compositions of Novotny’s @ 836 Hoover Place in Cleveland, OH. The Trio consisted of bassist Jordan McBride, drummer Ronzo Smith, and Novotny on tenor & soprano saxophone. The recording is called “Trio Theophany”!

Nebulosity CD Release

A previously released recording from 2015 called “NEBULOSITY” in tribute to Eric Dolphy, Ornette Coleman, and Charles Mingus is readily available for sale!  It features the tenor saxophone work of Edwin Bayard, tenor/soprano saxophone of Jack Novotny, bassist Dean Hullet, and drummer Dr. Mark Lomax II.  All six songs were composed by Jack Novotny.

Engineered by Tom Baker and recorded with Mark Lomax II -drums, Eddie Bayard – Tenor Saxophone and Dean Hulett-Acoustic Bass Kind of reminds me of the 1972 “Live At The Lighthouse” recording with Elvin Jones, Dave Liebman, Steve Grossman, & Gene Perla.
